Palazzo Fieschi introduction

Palazzo Fieschi is situated in Savignone, a delightful hilltop village in the heart of the green Scrivia valley, 25kms away from Genoa. According to the hotel's official bibliography, the imposing building was probably built at some time during the 15th century. What is certain is that alterations to the edifice were made between 1565 and 1569 by Count Ettore Fieschi.

At that time the destination of the building, the façade of which features two angular watchtowers, was changed from medieval fortress to official family residence of the count. In 1847 the residence and surrounding estate was rented to the Dr Romanengo who first transformed the property in luxury hotel and spa. A period of great activity and prestige was followed by decades of decline until restoration work began in the 1990's.

The extensive restoration project saw the recovery of original features of the Palazzo which had been hidden for centuries, such as the vaulted ceilings of the first floor. Today, this fabulous Palazzo Fischi hotel has 24 spacious bedrooms and junior suites, all furnished with period pieces and equipped with modern guest amenities. The rooms overlook the parkland or the charming piazza.

Hotel guests dine in high ceilinged, frescoed rooms in which the finest Italian cuisine is served, with a special emphasis being given to Ligurian dishes made with the best local produce including Savignone country cheese, aromatic herbs, extra virgin olive oil, Sauris salami, mushrooms and chestnuts.

Palazzo Fieschi has excellent banqueting and meeting facilities for up to 150 guests. In the summer months, wedding receptions and concerts are held in the luxuriant grounds of the hotel.
