La Spezia Liguria

As well as the military dockyard, La Spezia has much of historical interest, which can be seen in the Pegazzano, Vignale and Ribocco areas of the city. The most important monument is the Castle of St Giorgio sul Poggio.

Museums to visit: the Museum del Sigillo, the Amadeo Lia Museum, the Formentoni Civic Museum, the Nautical Museum of La Spezia, the Geo paleontological Museum.

There are enchanting excursions along the Crinale path, the Via dell'Amore, from Monterosso to Riomaggiore, and past the Castles of the La Spezia region.
